Tsavo National Parks (East and West)
Tsavo East and Tsavo West are two of Kenya’s largest and oldest national parks, often visited together for their diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife. Tsavo East is famous for its vast open plains and large herds of red-dust-coated elephants, a result of the region’s rich, iron-red soil. Visitors can also spot lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras, as well as the Galana River, which supports crocodiles and hippos. Tsavo West is more mountainous and lush than its eastern counterpart, with rolling hills, dense bush, and picturesque water sources like Mzima Springs, where hippos and crocodiles are easily viewed in crystal-clear pools.
